The Municipal Ballet School
of Larissa took part at the 19th International Dance Competition
of Varna with great success, 20th-30th July.
Maria Boubouli and Olga Tsimourta
attracted the judges attention with their exceptional performance,
even though the competition was outstandingly high standards:
145 contestants from 30 countries took part.
Thus we consider this a great attempt and a new page for dance
in Greece (which for a first time in history there were
Greek contestants) as Maria Boubouli
was amongst the 22 finalists in the junior category.
The International Dance Competition of Varna is one of the hardest
and most competitive of all dance competitions. It is from here
that many dancers received their "passports" to fame.
The two dancers were accompanied to Varna by their teacher Gesh
Mihov.
