At the National Dance Competition (which was organised by the Dance Promotion and Support Company) in Athens the 3rd , 4th April 1999 at the Athens College Theatre, Ioanna Lagou, student of the Professional Ballet School of Larissa, received the Gold Medal, Chrissa Varna, student of the Professional Level Preparatory Class received the Silver Medal and Nikoleta Batzalexi, student of the Professional Ballet School of Larissa, received the Bronze Medal.

At the competition Finals, Rita Kostopoulou and Maria Florou gave a very good performance. Despoina Bounitsi received good impressions for participating (Ioanna Lagou, Chrissa Varna, Nikoleta Batzalexi trained with Gesh Mihov, Rita Kostopoulou, Despoina Bounitsi and Maria Florou trained with Kamelia Damali).

As a reward for her gold medal Ioanna Lagou has the opportunity to participate at a Dance Seminar at the "Rosella Hightower" Dance School in Cannes (10-17 July).

Maria Boubouli, winner of the Pan-Hellenic Dance Competition (which gave her the chance to participate at the 8th Grand Prix Eurovision) danced as a guest at the Finals, where other known French dancers appeared also.
