The foundation of the Higher Prfessional School of Dance (1997)
contributes to the decentralisation so much in the field of Education
as in that of the artistic creation.
It is been thought important the dancing material that was created
to be able to study the Art of Dance, receiving professional qualifications,
studying in their own city.
The contemporary existence of the Thessalian
Ballet gives the students of the Higher School of Dance the
opportunity to provide an outlet to their artistic concerns and
to their need for scenic presence.
Substantially, apart from the professional possibility to deal with
the teaching of dance that gives to its graduates, it also withholds
the talents in their home place, thus giving life to the provinces.
The Higher Prfessional School of Dance was founded by the Nr. 32/52/28-6-1996
decree of the Ministry
of Culture, which was published in the Official Journal of the
Hellenic Republic Nr. 562/B'/11-7-1996.
The study is obligatory and lasts three years.
It is subjects to the legal context of the lMinistry
of Culture, where the programis also authorized.
The graduates receive a Diploma of a Dance Teacher.
