CLASSICAL AND MODERN DANCE SEMINARS
The Municipal Ballet School of Larissa and the Higher Dance School of D.E.T.PO.L organize seminars of classical dance beginning from 19-29 August , where there will teach the famous choreographer Milena Symeonova as well as the renowned Sofia Antoniadou, choreographer and Art Director of Dance School of Veria, who will teach Modern Dance and Rythmic Physical Education.
Following this, there will be another seminar of Modern Dance, by Kelly Karahaliou, well- known Dancer and Choreographer.
- Mrs Milena Symeonova is a graduate of the Vaganova Ballet Academy , in Petroupoli, as a student of Natalia Dudiska.
As a solist of the National Lyric Theatre in Sofia , she has performed Giselle, Swan Lake , Don Quixote, Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker and others.
She has danced at the most famous stages in Europe , Australia , Japan , Egypt , Taiwan , and Korea . She has been twice a medalist, at the International Dance Contest in Varna (1980, 1987)
Today she has been teaching classical Dance at the National Dance School in Sofia through a system based on the classic tradition of the Russian ballet.
-Mrs. Sofia Antoniadou is a graduate of the National Dance School and the Professional Dance School Of Despoina Gregoriadou.
She prosecuted her studies at the Dance Company Jose Limon and at the Alvin Ailey, American Dance Center .
She established the Dance Group, "Horostassi" and has created choreographies for the Municipal Theatres of Veria and Kosani.
As dancer, she has worked with several Dance Groups, such as "Haris Madafouis", "Zouzou Nikoloudi", Sofia Spyratou and others.
Since 1999 she has been teaching as a director at the Municipal Ballet School in Veria.
-Mrs. Kelly Karahaliou is a graduate of London Contemporary Dance School and Laban Center for Movement and Dance.
She has been taught dance and choreography by Dale Thompson, Rui Horta, Dominique Mercy and Russel Maliphant. She has created and performed her own choreographies in England , up to 1988, when she came back in Greece . She has taught and worked as a dancer, a choreographer with several groups. In 2003 established the group ËÕÃÎ.
Please note that from 20 th August the Higher Dance School will start the preparatory dance courses for the candidates of the Higher Dance School . Mr. Gesh Mihov will teach classical dance.
