Ballet in 3 acts.
Choreography: Auguste Bournoville
Music: H. S. Paulli, E. Helsted, N W.Gade, and H. Lumbye.

The fisherman Gernaro’s bride, Teresina, is swept overboard in a storm. She is saved by the sea sprite Golfo, who takes her to his blue grotto on the island of Capri. Gernaro finds her there at last , and in the third act they celebrate their wedding with a divertissement, finishing with a lively Tarantella.

The most popular of all Bournoville ballets. Usually only the third act is now performed but the complete ballet is still in the repertory of the Royal Danish Ballet. Napoli is a year younger than Giselle, but unlike Giselle, Napoli has not been changed by succeeding generations of choreographers

The Thessalian Ballet was performed pieces of the third act of this ballet in Larissa (28-11-2002) and in Veria (30-11-2002).
